Terms and Conditions of Rental
STATUSFLAMINGO, by means of this document, rents the aforementioned vehicle to the customer who signs under the terms and conditions herein, by which the customer acknowledges and agrees.
1. Customer obligations
The customer agrees to return the vehicle in the same condition as received. In case of non-compliance, the following penalties apply:
a) Loss or total/partial destruction of the vehicle documentation obliges the customer to compensate the company €30, covering related damages, including issuing duplicate documents and administrative costs.
b) If the vehicle is returned with a lower fuel level than at pickup, the missing fuel will be charged.
c) Cleaning: if the vehicle is returned in an unacceptable condition (beyond normal use) or dirty, a cleaning fee of up to €60 will be charged.
d) In case of damage to the vehicle, or if the insurance conditions initially agreed are not met, the customer will be held responsible (see insurance clause 2).
2. Insurance
The price shown on this website already includes insurance (T.W) + (P.A.I) and (S.C.D.W). No deposit or credit card is required.
a) (T.W) Theft or vandalism coverage: the customer voluntarily agrees to pay an additional daily fee according to the policy issued by STATUSFLAMINGO.
b) (P.A.I) Personal accident insurance: the customer voluntarily agrees to pay an additional daily fee according to the policy issued by STATUSFLAMINGO.
c) (S.C.D.W) Full coverage: covers all damage to the vehicle, except damage to wheels, tires, undercarriage, engine underside, parking fines, traffic fines, and fuel system cleaning.
d) If the customer declines S.C.D.W insurance, third-party liability insurance is included in accordance with applicable law, and the customer remains responsible for damages to the rented vehicle.
3. Driver age
Minimum age: 23 years
Maximum age: 65 years
Minimum 3 years of driving experience with a valid driving license in Portugal.
4. Vehicle use
The vehicle may only be driven by the customer and authorized drivers and must not be used:
a) For illegal transport or customs violations.
b) For transporting goods or passengers for payment or compensation.
c) To push or tow other vehicles or trailers.
d) For sports competitions.
e) By any person under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
5. Vehicle delivery
The vehicle is delivered with a warning triangle, standard tools, spare wheel, five marked tires, vehicle registration documents, insurance green card, a copy of the signed rental agreement, and inspection report if applicable.
6. Fines
The customer is responsible for fines or penalties. An administrative fee of up to €40 will be charged for handling these processes, in addition to the fines themselves.
7. Breakdown assistance

8. Incorrect fuel
If incorrect fuel is used, the customer is responsible for all costs related to fuel replacement, tank removal and cleaning, engine tuning, towing, and any resulting damage.
9. Personal belongings
The company is not responsible for loss or damage to any personal belongings left or transported in the vehicle.
10. Maintenance and replacement
Normal mechanical maintenance is the responsibility of the company. If the vehicle breaks down due to mechanical failure not caused by misuse, a replacement vehicle of equal or higher category will be provided at no extra cost. No replacement is provided in case of an accident caused by the renter or mechanical failure due to negligence, and no rental refund will be issued.
11. Rental duration
The rental ends on the date agreed by the customer. To extend the rental period, the customer must visit the nearest company office at least 24 hours before expiration. Otherwise, the vehicle will be considered in unauthorized use, which is punishable by law. The customer must return the vehicle to the rental station during business hours unless otherwise authorized.
12. Late return
If the vehicle is not returned at the agreed time, date, and place, the customer is responsible for all related costs.
13. Payment and deposit
Rental cost and any additional services must be paid at the start of the rental according to the current price list. A refundable deposit may be required depending on the insurance excess and vehicle category.
14. Vehicle unavailability
If the reserved vehicle is unavailable, the company will provide an equivalent or higher category vehicle at no additional cost. Otherwise, the company must refund the amount paid at booking within 30 days.
15. In case of accident
The customer agrees to protect the interests of the rental company and insurer. In case of an accident, the customer must:
a) Obtain names and addresses of all parties involved and witnesses.
b) Not admit liability or fault.
c) Not abandon the vehicle without taking proper safety measures.
d) Immediately notify the police.
e) Not move the vehicle until properly documented (including photographs from multiple angles).
16. Incident reporting
In case of accident, loss, damage, or theft, it must be reported immediately to the police and STATUSFLAMINGO within 24 hours. The customer must complete an accident report with as much detail as possible; otherwise, insurance coverage may be considered void.
17. Modifications
Any amendments or changes to these terms are void unless agreed in writing.
18. Liability waiver
The customer waives STATUSFLAMINGO, its agents, and employees from any responsibility for loss or damage to personal belongings left or transported in the vehicle, at any time before, during, or after the rental period.
19. Delays and flight losses
STATUSFLAMINGO accepts no responsibility for delays or flight losses caused by breakdowns or accidents.
